Who Do You Tell?

10 Oct

You’ve just completed your story. You’re bursting to tell someone your manuscript is finished!

Who do you tell? Everyone? No one?

If you shout out the good news on your favorite social media site, friends and acquaintances will celebrate with you. But when it comes to the details of your story, do you give sneak peeks? Share your synopsis?

Who do you trust with your work?

My critique partners are my trusted allies. We share the same hopes and fears. When I’ve typed my last sentence, these who’ve shared in my labor are the ones who rejoice with me.

Hats off to my critique partners: Pegg Thomas, Robin Patchen, Kara Hunt, Marge Wiebe, and Candice Sue Patterson.

When you’re eager to share good news, who do you tell?

I tell all of you, of course. And then I tell my husband, who says something like, “That’s nice.” It’s much more fulfilling to tell you ladies!

I agree, Robin! You gals are the first to know. Hubby is always supportive, but practically a non-reader. He doesn’t get the whole “squee!” moment. 😉

Always glad to join in your celebrations. You ladies are the BEST!
